The girl balanced on a precipice

The wind blew at her back.

She remembered all she’d fought for.

She thought of all she lacked.

She dreamed of who she wanted to be

As she stared out at starlight.

Moonbeams danced upon her face

In the inky black of night.

She closed vibrant brown eyes

Behind purple lids

She thought that maybe she could fly

She spread her arms

…and did.
