You Are Worthy

My hubby and I are sitting here together this afternoon—talking, laughing—and once again I’m realizing how incredibly lucky I am to have him in my life.
For those who’ve never had the privilege of seeing us together, he truly is the perfect yin to my yang… the one person who has never made me feel like I needed to pretend to be anyone other than exactly who I am.
I share this with gratitude. But I also share it with hope.
When I was a lonely teenager, my father used to say he was “older” when he married my mother. (He was 23. 😂) But I held onto that idea in my heart—that somewhere out there was someone meant for me.
When I hadn’t met my person by 25, I started to lose that hope.
I began to believe maybe no one would ever love me simply for being myself. And because I lost that hope, I accepted far less than what I deserved.
But like my father… I met my husband when I was “older.”
I won’t tell you how old—because that part doesn’t matter.
What matters is that I found him.
Not someone who merely puts up with me.
Not someone I have to constantly try to impress.
Not someone who intentionally hurts me.
Just someone who loves me exactly as I am.
I hope you find your person sooner rather than later.
But until you do, please remember this:
You are worthy of a love that sees you, respects you, and chooses you—exactly as you are. 💛
