"Silently Screaming"

Silently screaming;

Bound and gagged-

by love, or obligation,

or social convention.

My voice is hoarse from

soundlessly yelling

My ears ringing with

the empty profanities

that dance effortlessly from my lips.

But I do not bother to give

voice to my frustrations;

I don’t fret over my unspoken rant -

for you would

not hear

me anyway.
