Peckers: The Story Behind The Pact

Some may wonder — why did Jenny create the pact in the first place?
The answer is simple: Curtis.
Before Leo, before Peckers, and before the rules that would shape her senior year, there was betrayal and heartache so deep it nearly broke her.
But before that, there was happiness, too.
Let's go behind the pact, with the story of how it all went wrong.

Jenny was a freshman when she first caught eyes for Curtis.
He was boy-next-door handsome with this auburn hair that had a habit of flopping down into his brown eyes.
They hit it off instantly — the exact moment his girlfriend introduced them.
They laughed at the same things.
They could finish each other’s sentences.
Their chemistry was undeniable.
But Curtis was in a relationship, and they both respected that.
It wasn’t until months later, after that relationship ended, that he found his way back to Jenny.
Jenny and Curtis became #Goals for everyone who knew them.
Matching sweaters at Christmas.
Valentine’s Day photo shoots.
The works.
And she knew, beyond a shadow of a doubt, they’d have it all.
College degrees. Successful careers.
Dream wedding.
2.5 kids. (Though she wasn’t sure where the .5 kid was supposed to come from.)
The backyard with the dog.
Jenny was happier than she’d ever been.
The future that had always been so uncertain for her was now entirely planned out.
She had the world’s best boyfriend, she was making great money waitressing, and her coursework was inspired.
Junior year, she wakes up on the second anniversary of their first kiss, anticipating flowers and a card.
Instead, she gets “We need to talk.”
“You flirt with customers more than you flirt with me these days,” he says.
This hurts on a level she cannot begin to explain.
The man she loves more than anything…the man she wants to spend the rest of her life with…is not only saying she’s not enough for him, but he’s outright blaming her for the demise of their relationship.
A relationship she didn't even know was in danger.
She begs. Pleads. But he says there is nothing she can say or do.
It’s over.
The future she was so sure of, gone.
And with it, any confidence she had.
Then, she spots him out with his ex-girlfriend — the two of them behaving as if no time had passed.
She spirals in devastation.
How long have they been together?
Was he cheating on her?
Could she have an STD?
Her grades slip.
Work suffers
.She isolates herself from her friends.
Barely eats.
It takes everything her best friends have to pull her out of it just in time to pull her grades up and save her job.
This is what brings the pact to life — Jenny’s desperate need for some sense of control because she’s terrified of being hurt again.

You can join Jenny, Leo, Sierra, Roxie, and Martha in Peckers: The Pact, where heartbreak, friendship, ambition, and one very dangerous pact collide during senior year.
The story begins here — and trust me, the rules don’t stay intact for long.
